Life Insurance Solutions For Smokers

If you are a smoker, you may have been told that life insurance is out of reach for you. Obviously, life insurance rates are going to be higher for smokers. This also means that the life insurance company is taking a higher risk when they choose to offer coverage to someone who smokes. This is why the premium will be higher for smokers than non smokers for the same level of coverage.

Life Insurance For Smokers

If you are a smoker, you may think that in order to get coverage, you will have to pay the higher costs for the policy. If you decide to deal with a life insurance company that offers standard life insurance policies, this will be the case. However, if you don’t want to pay a premium that is nearly double non smoker rates, you may want to look around to find an insurance company that specializes in life insurance for smokers. Even if you have quit smoking, some companies will consider you to be a smoker if you have smoked during the last two or three years, but other companies will only look at your status at the time that you sign up for the policy. At that time, get another policy in place that classifies you as a non smoker, and then cancel your old policy. Even non smokers understand how hard it is to quit smoking. No matter how many times they attempt to quit, many smokers are going to be unable to kick the habit. However, you will be able to get insurance protection in place to protect your family even if you are a smoker. Many companies can offer you quotes for term life insurance, and many companies are very open to providing smokers’ life insurance to customers.
